Ford Escape
The Ford Escape comes with a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine that produces 181 horsepower. There’s also a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that will give you 250 horsepower.
Both engines are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive, is standard, but all-wheel drive is an option. This SUV gets fantastic gas mileage: 28 MPG in the city and 34 MPG on the highway.
There is a lot of room in both rows in the Ford Escape, and five people will fit nicely. Plus, the rear seats slide, which offers more space. Cargo room is great: 37.5 cubic feet behind the back row and 65.4 cubic feet when it’s down.

Ford Edge
If you’re looking for a bigger SUV, the Ford Edge could be ideal. It comes with a 250-horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. The other option is a 335-horsepower twin-turbocharged 2.7-liter V6.
An eight-speed automatic is standard with the smaller engine, but that larger one gets a seven-speed automatic. All-wheel drive comes standard. For its class the Ford Edge has great fuel economy: 21 MPG in the city and 28 MPG on the highway.
The Ford Edge has a big cabin that accommodates five people. Cloth upholstery and manually adjustable front seats are standard. As for cargo space, you’ll get 39.2 cubic feet behind the rear row and 73.4 cubic feet when it is folded.
Quite a few tech features come in ever Ford Edge, including four USB ports, proximity keyless entry, and satellite radio. You will also get Android Auto™, Apple CarPlay®, and a Wi-Fi hot spot.
