Ford Health News Update

You are not going to believe this. You know how I know that? I don’t believe this and I work here. Ford has given a little sneak peak at the future of the Sync system and what it will someday be capable of. The crazy thing about all these cool new perks, is I don’t think they’re all that far off. more The future of the Sync system will be far more healthy friendly. Think about this for a minute with me for a minute. If you have a respiratory problem like asthma or allergies, then your car could be programmed to help you make your sickness far easier to manage. If today’s pollen count were dangerously high on different routes around town, your car could use the GPS coupled with this new system to help you find a route that would make it easier to breath. Won’t Somebody Please Think Of The Children!! Now in this little scenario, let us for a moment imagine someone in the car has diabetes. The Ford future duty will be able to not only monitor your breathing for those health risks, but also monitor one of your passenger’s blood sugar. I’m sorry but is anyone else freaking out over this amazement. Here in the heart of Kentucky, if there is one thing we aren’t short on it is heart risks. To be fair, so is the rest of America. The reason I bring it up is that on top of everything else, this new system would also be able to monitor your heart. Think about that, forget the blue button, when you’re in trouble this thing will call an ambulance for you. How about that? Here in Lawrenceburg, Ford Superduty is in a lot of folks driveways, and we make a living with our trucks. Someday our trucks will keep us alive too. If you’re heading down to the market to pick up some groceries and your allergies kick up, your kid’s blood sugar tanks out, and then your ticker gives up, I’m not sure if it will handle it all at once, before the ambulance gets to Lawrenceburg, Ford Fusion to the rescue.

Ford Focus ST Goes Worldwide

Have you ever seen a car that you thought was only sold here in America and then you notice it on TV or some magazine that they have it over in Europe or Asia too? The funny thing about that is although that car may have the same name as it does here, in the past that has never actually meant it was the exact same car. Ford is moving to break this tradition. more You wouldn’t think there had to be too much difference between the car we all drive here in Kentucky and the one that someone is cruising around France with. Well, you would think wrong. Believe it or not, America has some of the strictest regulations of automobiles in the world and yet we still have a thick brown cloud over L.A. Overseas Ford has announced recently that they will create one Focus ST for the entire world to share. I’m sure someone has done this before, but to be honest I don’t know if Ford ever has. I mean I’ve seen pictures of the Fiesta over there, but who knows how many different things there are between here and across the pond. None The answer when it comes to the new Focus is none. Think about this from a manufacturing stand point, how easy does this make Ford’s life? Imagine only having one set of problems to fix and improve upon instead of having to check which model variant needs attention. Time saved is money saved. But, meanwhile here in Frankfort, Ford continues to be our brand and what they do overseas is great and all, but remember that we are focused on helping folks here at home. If you were in Frankfort, Germany, you wouldn’t expect to see many pickup trucks running around. Thankfully, here in the good old USA Frankfort, Ford Truck owners are everywhere you look and proud of their machines. Keep In Mind When you really sit and ponder, all this talk about how the auto industry has been doing and what the consumer really wants, and yet, all we’ve had to do is keep giving people the best looking and hardest working truck on the market, and we’re sitting pretty here at home.

From your Floor to Your Driveway

My friends, for those of you out there in the big scary world that are afraid of the green initiative, let me help you calm down by showing you what it is actually supposed to be. Ford Motor Company has saved over four million pounds of carpet from a landfill so you can drive it. I’ll explain. more The blue oval has done it again folks. By taking 4.1 million pounds of old carpet, Ford has created  a new nylon resin that can be used in place of oil based plastic. How about that? Ford has been using recycled material for years, but they continue to improve the way they make their cars from the internal mechanics to the seat cushions. From recycled carpet to recycled yarn, Ford can use just about anything after recycled and reshaped to make a car. How great is that, right? Moving Forward These recycled materials have parts that range from piston heads, undercarriages, and seat covers and foam. Also, they are found in a large group of lines ranging from the Ford Fusion and the Ford F150. Ford recognizes that to survive in this crazy world run by left over hippies, a company must be able to push the green initiative. Allow me to educate you a bit. Before I worked in the auto industry, I was a Millwork Specialist. If you don’t know what that is, basically I designed doors and windows for people building their dream homes. Believe me, I would hear about being green every minute of every day and yet no one around truly knew what being green meant. Being Green Pay attention folks, you are about to get an education. Although a fad, green has been around forever, but only recently caught on with certain people because it sounds trendy. In its most basic essence, being green simply means being efficient and saving money and material. Doesn’t sound so fancy now does it? Actually, companies like Ford have been green since the beginning. The Assembly line was one of the first big green initiatives. It saved the company money and from there the savings are passed on to the customer. So ask yourself, do you want a company that brags about being green, or just does it and saves you money. Best thing about Ford, you get both.

2013 Taurus 31 MPG and 237 HP

Holy cow folks, have you seen the 2012 Ford Taurus? Well, nevermind that, you really need to see the 2013 Taurus. No you don’t need to travel in time or lock yourself in a time capsul, though this being America I can’t stop you, all you need to do is check out the latest auto shows. more The new, new Taurus will have the new Eco Boost engine and  brag about an amazing thirty one miles per gallon highway. That will put it at the top of its class, but wait, that is not all. The 2013 Taurus will also rock out a massive 237 horse power out of its environmentally friendly six cylinder engine. My mom has a new Taurus and so do a few of my clients. This car is sharp. All I can think about is how inferior my old ’92 Taurus was to this. Forget for the moment the decade difference in technology for a minute and really think about how fast things move. Thankfully Ford is one of the few companies improving as they move forward. Not to mention, Ford is also the only car manufacturer that isn’t just giving up on the internal combustion engine. Improve it or move it world. Ford’s choice: Improve it. Down here in Kentucky you’ll experience every kind of driving imaginable. You’ll have all the ice you could want in the winter, heat waves in the summer, and long plains as well as tall mountains. Now I ask you, who do you think of when you need a ready for anything car that turns heads? Shelbyville used cars just aren’t going to cut it compared to the new Taurus line. However, if you’re new to Shelbyville, used car choices will soon be better than ever as drivers prepare for the next best thing Ford has to offer. There have been staples of the blue oval family for a long time and one of the best in the nice car division has always been the Taurus. Even when they took a break for a while, you still never forgot about the good old Taurus.

Ford: Less Gas, More Smiles

Imagine I’m the big wig of Ford for just a minute. As I sit beside my fire, swirl my brandy and puff my cigar, I try to come up with two words that would best describe my new line of engines, while creating a buzz word combination that will make our marketing department wonder why they get paid when I’m the one coming up with this stuff. I’ve got it!! My fellow blue oval enthusiasts, meet the new Ford EcoBoost. more I used to always complain about the mileage my pickup truck got back when I was still driving one. Even though it was 18 miles per gallon and as far as trucks go back then that was still amazing, I needed more. I know provide my full thanks to Ford in achieving that which I promised would bring me back to the truck. I ran down to Louisville Ford and drooled all over the lot for a while. Then I went inside and talked to the boss man, and yes, I call him that because he’s not just the man with the plan, but he’s also my boss. After he got done hollering at me for being on the lot distributing saliva all over the F-150 section, we got down to numbers. Keep Your Money, Keep Your Power Yours and my Louisville Ford dealer can really show you something I never thought would come. I see the commercials all the time for the Ecoboost engine system. We have got it in everything. You’ll find this new money saving technology in cars, trucks, and I’m going to assume in a matter of time our van lines as well. In a time when everyone else is trying to reinvent the wheel, Ford is the only one that still seems to have any faith in making the wheel that has served so well for over a hundred years better. There is no end in sight of when we will stop using gasoline, so why does all the other manufacturers keep lying to themselves and their customers. Ford is committed to proving to the world that when something gets tough, you fight to make it better, not give up and slow down.

Ford’s New 40 MPG Engine

For any of you out there that have been reading this blog since the day I started it, and of course if you’re reading this one I’ll assume you are an avid reader, thanks mom, then you will be well aware of my love for that Ford blue oval. Ford was the first to perfect the V8 engine that drank gas like a drunk, but now they are still cranking out new engine designs with a different focus, get it?! more The Ford F150 will always be what we are best known for, especially in these parts. I miss mine every day and still hate seeing what the family dog has done to it since I gave it to my father. However, as the last few years have gained momentum for Ford, the Ford Fusion has gained so much popularity that some of us are actually comparing it to the Escort. Remember that one? Save The Money = Save The Planet Every other auto maker now being run by Uncle Sam has turned their focus into more electric, more hybrid, and who knows what else. Ford still holds true to its faith in the internal combustion realm. This new engine that Ford is about to unleash, in yet another version of the Focus, will get that tantalizing number of forty when it comes to highway miles. Most other car makers are having to reinvent the wheel to achieve that standard. All Ford has done is take what they had that already worked and help build an industry as well as a nation, and make a few improvements. I could spend the next paragraph describing the boring metallurgy report that came out about what used to be steel is now aluminum and so on, but what you really care about are the benefits. Think of it like this. Right now everyone complains that the setup cost of solar power is way too high for the money it actually saves you so you never actually see a true benefit. Now take Ford. You know as well as I do they wouldn’t roll this car off the line if it wasn’t affordable, and you especially know we wouldn’t bother telling you about it if it wasn’t going to be full of benefits.

Ford MoCo and AT&T

What can’t a phone do these days. First there was the smart car, then there was the smart phone. It may have been the other way around, but the bottom line is thanks to some smart people the gadgets in our daily lives are getting ever so cool! more Ford Motor Company has teamed up with AT&T to give you more ways to link up and monitor your brand spanking new Ford Electric Hybrid. I talked to a guy the other day that sells an aftermarket kit that allows you to connect thru your phone to your car for all sorts of things. You could roll down your windows, start the car, even set all sorts of GPS settings so you can monitor where your car is. Trust me, when you have kids you’ll understand that last one. The world keeps getting cooler and cooler when it comes to toys. The nice thing about this new one from Ford, it won’t be an aftermarket thing you have to pay through the nose for. Down in Frankfort, Ford is ready and willing to help you understand what it is I’m describing. Now up in Louisville, Ford is just as ready. Seems cryptic I know, but I feel like the more I learn about these new innovations to our industry, I can barely contain myself. It is like the first time I saw Nintendo. Do any of you remember how amazing Duck Hunt truly was!? Then Sega came out, then Sega CD and so on. Technology has always been there for me and yet I still look on in awe as it grows and improves. My grandfather still has trouble accepting that there is little to no reason to have a landline because he can remember having no floor, let alone a phone. The world keeps getting more and more fun for us. It’s like the big bad world really is one big play ground. Everywhere you look there are more and more toys that do away with the notion of look but don’t touch. Forget that! I can see them, and believe me I’m sitting here toying with my smart phone and the new Focus.

Sync Verses Blue Button

With the release of the new Ford Explorer, Ford also has a new trick up its sleeve. In addition to talking to your car and your car talking back to you, the Sync system will also help you get emergency help when you need it. What a concept right? Ford may not have thought of it first, but I believe they will truly make it their own. more My Great Uncle was being told about the blue button that became standard on all of that company’s vehicles. This person talking was so impressed with the service and was just excited about the feature while he explained it all to good old Uncle Jack. That is when in his great southern draw and non committal way asked if the guy reckoned that the reason they put it in the car standard was they expected it to break down and you would need help. Yeah, Uncle Jack truly has a unique way of looking at things, but you can’t argue with the guy. He was right after all. For those of us gifted enough to come from blue oval families, we all know and laugh about the other brands constantly blowing engines or transmissions. Lucky for them they have the button to push. So now you’re asking me what makes ours better. The answer is simple and I’ll tell you since you asked so nicely. Our system isn’t there to help you get help. It helps you with directions, hands free phone calls, text messages, storing and choosing music AND getting help when you need it. See the difference? Now to my fellows of Shelbyville, used cars are abundant and ready for you to find the perfect fit. If around Shelbyville used car shopping isn’t what you’re looking for on a Friday night for an exciting time, just remember you can always come out and look at a new car with the new and improved Sync system. Uncle Jack lives just down the road and I can’t wait to go tell him about the new system. You know what? Having just given that notion some thought, I think I’ll send someone else go tell him, just in case.

Diet Ford: Maintenance Free

Plug it in, Plug it in. Now on top of being electric and keeping you away from the slave driving of the pump, you might now even have to get an oil change. If any of you out there are shooters, the new electric Ford Focus is like the new Glock of automobiles. more Ok, I understand that maybe some of you aren’t shooters. First of all, you should try it, you’ll probably like it. The other thing, please allow me to explain my analogy. A German engineer created a pistol design and called his company and the pistol, Glock. The Glock revolutionized the firearms industry with an efficiency never seen before. The Glock was newly and immediately famous because it had fewer moving party than any other of its class. That is why I bring it up, because the new electric Ford Focus has fewer moving parts than any other car in its class. Oil can also be a big similarity between these two examples. The Glock only needs four drops of oil to function flawlessly for an extremely long duration of use. The new Ford Focus is very much on par with that same efficiency. Imagine never having to sit and wait for a ten minute oil change that still takes twenty to thirty. The time over your life that you’ll save could be used for any number of things. For example, instead of waiting for an oil change, you could spend that half hour in a Subway drive thru. Yeah, it takes that long, ever done it? I highly recommend you don’t. Down here in Lawrenceburg, Ford F150 is still king. I even think I’ve seen some King Ranch trucks roll around. One of the locals of Lawrenceburg, Ford Fusion driver, has actually come in and asked about the new Focus. Ford estimates you will literally save hundreds of dollars and man hours over the life of the car. Now think about this, aside from the money and the time, imagine all of the worry you won’t have about how long it has been since you got something checked. You won’t hear as much noise with less moving parts. This car all around will save you a lot.

Ford Could Be 2011 Best

What is so significant about the name Edison? Thomas Edison stole the light bulb and got all the credit, Commonwealth Edison is who my parent pay for their light bulbs to come on every month, and Edison is also the name of the prestigious award that Ford Motor Company has four technologies in the finals for. Stick with me, this will all make sense really soon. more And here’s the sense, Ford is Awesome! What’s that? You need more? Then let me go further. The Edison Awards are really holding Ford on high for leading the industry with such innovations as Ford’s now famous Sync System. My girlfriend has it. Believe me, she loves it. I drive a pretty nice car, but because I don’t have the Sync System I hear how her car is better than mine all the time. I grew up with Ford all my life, my grandfather worked for them for twenty years before my life started, and his father actually had a Model T on the farm. Ford has been a way of life for my family for four generations and I still find myself awed by the blue oval every year. It’s nice to back a winner. Safety Have you heard of an inflatable seat belt? The new Explorer has it. This new innovation is so new that I didn’t even know what it is and like it I said, I’m from the Ford loyal family. Down here in Frankfort, Ford has a pretty solid place in folks’ lives. You can’t take a trip down the road without seeing about a dozen F-150’s and of course near everyone has gotten on the Fusion bandwagon. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great wagon to ride, so is the car. If you take the trip from Frankfort to Louisville, Ford will again be one of if not the dominant cars on the road. Thank You Mr. Ford Ford has helped raise my family for generations. They gave my great grandfather a machine to help on the farm, that yes he did later trade for a horse, but it got him the horse right? Ford gave my grandfather a career for 30 years to raise my dad who bought an F-150 for me to learn to drive in and so on. We are a Ford Family.

Focus On Sound

Here’s a new thing to think about for you. Have you ever driven your car and wondered what that horrible noise is? Of course, everyone has. The new Ford EcoBoost will play into this on the positive side and give you the sounds you want to hear from your engine, and eliminate the ones you really don’t want to hear. more I’ll be honest, I drive a four banger engine, so the only sounds that come from under my hood are the soft kitty like purrs of my low power motor. It is ok though, it gets me where I need to go and saves me some money on the gas. The reason I bring it up is until recently, I had not heard that soft kitty purr in several weeks. What I thought was tire damage ended up being a bad wheel bearing. Now of course this has nothing to do with engine noise except for the fact your really do miss it. This technology could be used for several things. Imagine when you’re choosing your options you have the choice of what your engine sounds like. They simply put in whatever does the thing and there you go. I want a four cylinder engine with the sound of a grand prix race car. Make it happen Ford! Ok, right now this is more of a European thing, but like most things it will make its way over the pond eventually. Might as well be ready for it and find an engine you know you like and record the sound. Now around Shelbyville, used cars are filling up the lot as people are finally ready to trade in the cars they’d been holding on too. If you’re like me and a native of Shelbyville, used car lots are finally starting to offer more options. We’ve been test driving these cars as they come in and get checked out. Believe me, these are great vehicles. Final Thought If you live for the sound your car makes, or on the other hand you want a car where the engine is not what you hear, then this is going to be some pretty neat stuff for you. Be patient, it’ll come.

Leno Show Donates Focus

Remember when Leno left the show, but didn’t really leave and then there was that whole fiasco with the orange haired guy? Well forget about the guy and check out the orange car he donated to the Petersen museum. more Everyone knows that Jay Leno is a car enthusiast. That is to say, Leno owns more cars than you do toothpicks. Don’t think about that too hard, we’re moving on. The day of the internal combustion engine are numbered if you talk to some experts. It is no secret that we’d all love not to have to pull up to a pump that asks if you want to spend a week’s worth of grocery money in your fuel tank. It is getting crazy. It may be a while before you see any electric cars humming down the streets of Lawrenceburg. Ford F150 owners would need retraining to look lower to the ground for other cars, that’s for sure. That’s not to say you can find a good hybrid in the mean time. If you’re around Lawrenceburg, Ford Fusion comes is several styles including a half gas half electric. However, I in no way encourage any of you to drive off the lot with an orange one. Obviously the whole point of buying a car is to stand out and yell look at me! Wait, I’m just being told that it isn’t the whole point. You’re telling me that gas mileage, conveyance, and comfort are also big factors in the decision. Well this just rocks my whole understanding of the auto industry. Seriously though, if you’re looking for a new car and want to save some money on the deal and at the pump, head over to O’brien Ford and let us show you the goods. Whether you’re looking for a hybrid to save some money with, or a work truck to make some money with, we’ll be glad to help you. I could go into a whole Tom Bodett lecture with my sweet and compelling deep voice, but you’re reading this and that’s not going to help. Besides there is no way I’m leaving the light on for you all night long.
