Last month, Ford continued their support of U.S. Military members and personnel by hosting a fun event for members of the military currently posted in Europe. The Ford Company brought a 2015 Ford F-150 and a 2015 Ford Mustang to the Hockenheimring racetrack in Germany, and gave members of the military a chance to test out both vehicles on the track. This was the first ride-and-drive program hosted by Ford overseas, and its success means it could serve as the beginning of a regular part of Ford’s product launches, giving overseas military members a chance to test out the vehicles while they’re away, instead of having to wait until their return home.
The Hockenheimring racetrack served as a great central location for military personnel from around Europe to come together and experience the exciting new models. The track hosts the German Grand Prix, making it a historically important location, as well as a pragmatically central one. And for the test drivers who were particularly impressed with what they experienced, Ford has partnered with the Overseas Military Sales Corporation to ensure that members of the military can purchase the vehicles either for use at their current locations, or for pickup as soon as they return home.
At O’Brien Ford of Shelbyville, we’re thrilled that Ford is supporting the military. Those of you in the U.S. might not get to try out new Ford models at a historical German racetrack, but you can still test drive the 2015 Ford F-150 and 2015 Ford Mustang. Visit your local Ford dealership today to select your choice of SUV, car, or Ford truck. Shelbyville drivers will find all-new Ford models, expert staff, and the perfect vehicle for their family – military or otherwise – here at O’Brien Ford!
